UCC Department of Pathology Teaching

As part of UCC medical and dental degree courses, the Department of Pathology teaches the following modules to undergraduate medical and dental students:-

  • FM2004 - Foundations of Medicine: Mechanisms of Disease (second year medical and dental students)
  • FM3005 - Foundations of Medicine: Manifestations of Disease (third year medical students)
  • PM3009 - Manifestations of Systemic and Oral Disease (third year dental students)
  • PM3090 - Genetic Research in Human Disease

The Department of Pathology participates in the teaching of the following modules to Graduate Entry to Medicine students:-

  • GM1001 -  Fundamentals of Medicine I
  • GM1002 -  Fundamentals of Medicine II
  • GM1003 -  Fundamentals of Medicine III
  • GM2001 -  Fundamentals of Medicine IV

The department, jointly with Cork Institute of Technology, also teaches the following modules in biomedical sciences:-

  • BM3001 - Cellular Pathology 1
  • BM4007 - Cellular Pathology II

The Department of Pathology participates in and coordinates the teaching of the following modules to undergraduate medical and chemistry students:-

  • FM4005 - Forensic Medicine & The Coroner's Court
  • PM3006 - Forensic and Legal Medicine
